
The Onsite Construction Academy is a work experience and employment scheme funded and delivered by Cardiff Council’s Into Work Advice Service.
If you are looking to expand your skillset and gain qualifications to work on construction sites, we can offer you guidance and training. We offer quality onsite training and work experience with a wide range of contractors to give you the skills you need to progress your career.

We work with the following groups:
The Onsite Construction Academy welcomes jobseekers, career changers and those returning to the industry. Our free construction training course includes:
- Re-employment skills
- Accredited Level 2 safety certificates
- Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Level 1, and
- Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card qualification
We may also be able to support you to gain Personal Track Safety (PTS) certification.
After training, we connect jobseekers with local contractors to offer employment and apprenticeship opportunities.
We take referrals from a wide range of organisations including:
- Local Authorities
- Government Employment Organisations
- Employability Support Projects
- Housing Associations
We work closely with these organisations throughout the learner’s journey to share progress and discuss issues, ensuring the best possible outcome for all learners.
We work closely with national and local contractors and construction recruitment agencies to provide learners with onsite experience and employment opportunities.

Eligibility
To qualify for our support you must be:
- Not in full time education
- Over 16 years of age (no upper age limit)
- Living in Cardiff
