Lay The Foundations For Your Career

The Onsite Construction Academy is a three-year training, work experience and employment scheme funded by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) and delivered by Cardiff Council’s Into Work Advice Service.

If you are looking to expand your skillset and gain qualifications to work on construction sites, we can offer you guidance and training. We offer quality onsite training and work experience with a wide range of contractors to give you the skills you need to progress your career.

  • Health and Safety in a Construction Environment Level 1, and

After training, we connect jobseekers with employers to offer employment and apprenticeship opportunities across southeast Wales.

We support further education students to gain practical work experience to compliment construction diploma learning.

We work with colleges in southeast Wales to arrange onsite experience placements for students as well as employment opportunities for those completing their studies.

We take referrals from a wide range of organisations across southeast Wales including:

  • Local Authorities
  • Government Employment Organisations
  • Employability Support Projects
  • Housing Associations
  • Further Education Colleges

We work closely with these organisations throughout the learner’s journey to share progress and discuss issues, ensuring the best possible outcome for all learners.

We work closely with prime contractors and recruitment agencies across southeast Wales to provide learners with onsite experience and employment opportunities to meet sector demands.

Employers play an active role in certifying learners as site and employment ready, ensuring they are qualified to begin their careers in construction.
